Standardizing CT data with BIDS: Applications in Lung and Brain Imaging*

AI in medical imaging relies on well-curated, diverse datasets to develop robust and unbiased algorithms. Here we proved the feasibility of extending the Brain Imaging Data Structure on CT imaging by converting datasets from both neuroimaging (Open Access Series of Imaging Studies release 3, i.e., OASIS-3) and lung imaging (NLST) domains into the BIDS format.

The Pivotal Role of Baseline LDCT for Lung Cancer Screening in the Era of Artificial Intelligence

This paper reviews AI applications for lung cancer screening with low-dose computed tomography (LDCT), focusing on the role of the initial (baseline) LDCT examination. Published in the Archivos de Bronconeumología, 2025.

Development of a 3-D standardized lung template from low-dose CT scans

Lungs lack a standard reference map like the brain has; we built one from screening low-dose CTs and used it to pinpoint how emphysema structurally changes the lungs.
